OPEN CIRCLE: CLIMATE

Join Chalk Rep for an evening of performance and community conversation at our latest installment of our quarterly Open Circle Salon Series! Doors open at 6:30 PM for a 7PM program on the theme of Climate, featuring a short play by Andrew Rosendorf, directed by Katie Lindsay, featuring Shereen Macklin and Zarah Mahler; dance performance by Koryn Ann Wicks;  sound art from composer Colin Wambsgans, and a talk from Ryan Harrigan of the UCLA Institute of the Environment. And as always, we welcome community contributions during our Open Share.


OPEN CIRCLE: BIRTH

Join Chalk Rep for an evening of performance, speakers, and holiday celebration!  As 2017 comes to a close, our quarterly salon series will be reflecting on new beginnings with the theme of BIRTH. Doors open at 6:30 PM for a 7PM program, followed by a reception. Admission is free and includes food and drink, but donations are gladly accepted!

Chalk Rep is bringing our community closer with a regular gathering of artists, art lovers, and open-hearted citizens in need of support and inspiration. We’re excited to invite you to the second event in our salon series Open Circle.

On April 2, please join us for an evening of performances, speakers, and ritual on the theme of Migration. This event will feature a talk by freelance NPR journalist, DJ, professor and music promoter Betto Arcos and music performed by Jesus E. Florido, as well as short creative works from members of our community!

OPEN CIRCLE: SCRAPS

Explore the world of food waste, community composting, and soil regeneration, all with a flair of creativity and art! Experience a TED-style talk, storytelling, music, dance, ceremony and community dialogue. Featured Guest Speaker is Lynn Fang, MS, Soil Scientist from LA Compost.. The event will highlight original music by singer/songwriter Medima, an original dance piece by Liz Cartojano, and an original short play written by Amy Ellenberger and performed by Feodor Chin, Jessica Rau, and Michelle Murphy Waylon. SCRAPS is a part of Chalk Rep’s “Open Circle” salon series that brings together artists and art-lovers for community and conversation.
